Jukka Ruhanen has left the club and
Billericay's Mark Graham has joined.
Rudi has found it difficult to
settle in England and in spite of a full social life and
the cheap beer on Canvey (compared to Finland where it
is about £5 per pint!) the Finnish international has
decided to go back home. Rudi hasn't really made
the impression in the Ryman league that his
international pedigree first suggested. There has
been a degree of disappointment all round although
Rudi's departure was on amicable terms.
But as one door closes, another opens
and last night Jeff King announced on the Gulls Line
that he had signed Mark Graham from neighbours
Billericay town. Born in Newry on 24th October
1974, Mark is a pacey wide midfielder who joined
Billericay at the end of the 2001/02 season, following
spells at Queens Park Rangers, Cambridge, Stevenage
Borough, Barry Town and Aldershot. 19/03/03

Jeff
has been named Manager of the Month for February.
Congratulations, of course. But in the past
this award, plus the Safe Hands Award for the goalkeeper
has usually been an omen for a run of poor results!!!
Well done, Jeff. Now prove the
omens wrong. 06/03/03

Gavin
Cowanmay
not be as badly hurt as we all first thought. When
he was stretchered off on Saturday in the game against
Ford United, fans feared the worst and it certainly
looked as if he had broken his leg. News this
afternoon is that the initial diagnosis is of
damaged ankle ligaments and not of any broken bones.
Even ligament damage will involve a long period of
inactivity for the tall defender but is, nevertheless,
good news all the same. We all send our best
wishes to Gavin and hoping for a speedy recovery.

John
Morris, who helped organise the recent feast
of oriental cuisine reports that - Our "Sunday Night
at the Maharaja" went very well. Over a hundred
people attended and enjoyed a good Nosh and a good
Natter, followed by a Disco. The Youth Club and
the Supporters Club would like to thank all those who
came along. Those who were there know how well it went
and that we raised a grand sum for the funds of the
two clubs. It was 'jointly enjoyable' 03/03/03
