Canvey
Island have reportedly withdrawn their
Contract offer for former Southend Left-back Damon Searle.
Speaking to the Evening Echo, Gulls
Coach Glenn Pennyfather had this to say:
"We made Damon an offer, but
we have now decided to look at other possible
targets,".
"We hope Damon gets sorted out
elsewhere and we will now turn our attention to other
players as we look towards next season."

Peter
Smith has returned to Park Lane!
After spending last season at Essex rivals
Grays Athletic under former Canvey Island Midfielder Mark
Stimson, Peter 'Buzz' Smith has returned to the Gulls!
Rumoured to have re-signed within the last fortnight
Smith, 34, hopes to resurrect his successful CIFC career
and win back the praise of the 'Yellow Army'.

The
Evening Echo reports tonight that Canvey
Island Left-Winger Scott Forbes has been placed on the
Transfer List. Scott who signed from Southend United at
the beginning of last season played for the Canvey Island
Reserves at Basildon last Saturday, rather than go to
Roots Hall with the First-Team. Canvey Island FC wishes
Scott Forbes all the best in searching for a new Club.
Also in the same article is news that
Canvey Island have offered former Cambridge Utd Central
Defender & Ipswich Trainee David Theobald (pictured) a
contract and he should sign sometime this week.

According
to the Evening Echo tonight,
Canvey Island FC have offered a 12 month contract to
former Southend United Left-back Damon Searle who had
spent some of the duration of the last week on trial at
Colchester United playing against Grays Athletic &
Charlton Athletic. The U's have also tabled a deal for the
30 year old.
However, Canvey's trialist Midfielder, Stuart Thurgood,
(pictured) who was another player released by Southend United towards
the end of last season will not be offered a contract by
the Club leaving him free to negotiate terms with other
Clubs interested in his services.

Neil
Midgley has signed for Canvey Island FC.
The former Barnet Midfielder put pen to
paper prior to the Pre-Season Friendly at home to Hull
City tonight - 18th July.
Described as a Right-Sided/Central
Forward who is best playing just behind the Strikers, Neil
was born in Cambridge on 21st October 1978. After joining
Ipswich Town, Midgley had spells at Hereford &
Kidderminster Harriers before joining Barnet where he
became a proven Conference Goal Scorer - from Midfield.

To end all
the speculation - Ty Gooden has finally signed for
Canvey. Ty has a long
association with the island, being born here in 1972 and
going to Winter Gardens Primary and then Castle View
Secondary schools. Ty and brother Ian have long been
admired for their footballing skills, although injury
problems have dogged both boys.
