Directions To Canvey Island Football Club, Park Lane, Canvey Island

The Park Lane ground is fairly easy to find, and by following the directions / maps below, you should be able to easily find it

You will probably come onto Canvey along the A130 Canvey Way.
This will bring you to a roundabout at Waterside Farm.
Take the 2nd exit (B1014) which is signposted for Town Centre.
You should now be on Somnes Avenue.
The golf course will be on your left and the sports centre will be on your right.
After .7 mile you will come to a small roundabout - take 2nd exit.
You should still be on Somnes Avenue
After a further 1/2 mile you will come to a mini-roundabout
Take 1st exit into Climmen Road
(The direction sign tells you to go straight on.  You can follow this if you wish,
but this route will take you into the town centre which is not always a good
idea on a Saturday afternoon!)
Turn left into Climmen Rd. which becomes Dovervelt Road
You should have the rugby club on your left.
After .6 mile you come to another roundabout.
Take 2nd exit into Mitchells Avenue.
You will now have a cricket club on your left.
After .2 mile you will come to a T-junction with High Street.
The Murco garage should be on your right (remember this landmark
for your return journey).
Turn left and follow road for 1/2 mile, you should pass a large pub called
Admiral Jellicoe*
Keep straight on, past Leigh Beck Primary School on right,
You will see the Transport Museum on right
Park Lane is a turning on right, 200yds further on.
CIFC is at end of Park Lane (100yds) with large, free car park.
For very big crowds, there is plenty of street parking in the vicinity of the ground.

*Canvey's bar is quite small.  When large crowds are expected, you might consider stopping at the Jellicoe for pre-match drinks and eats.  Canvey club bar serves Boddington's Gold, Fosters and Flowers IPA,  The burger bar at the ground serves the usual range of chips, burgers, hot-dogs, etc.  The quality is quite good, especially the bacon burgers.

If you are travelling by public transport the nearest train station is Benfleet.  This is 3.44 miles from the turnstiles, so the bus might be a better choice than walking. Any bus that goes to 'Leigh Beck' or 'The Point' will suffice, these normally depart from the farthest bus stop.

The map below gives a close up image of part of the Island.

Some of the pubs on the Island.  The Jellicoe is the closest pub to the
ground but recently away fans have found the service rather slow.  Next
best bet is The Windjammer.  Follow the signposts for the Seafront.
The pub is opposite the sea wall has has bars upstairs and down.
To get to the ground from here, keep driving/walking along the seafront
(turn left as you come out of the pub) and go as far as you can.
There is plenty of parking at the end of the seafront and it is only a
2 minute walk to the ground (visible from the sea wall)
